Our Story

In 1987, Kelly and Donna LaFollette founded a construction company on a simple but powerful idea: that the way you build matters just as much as what you build. They named it PHI Construction — each letter standing for a principle they refused to compromise on: Pride in Workmanship, Honesty, and Integrity.

What began as a family-founded firm in the Pacific Northwest has grown into a trusted general contracting company serving Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Idaho for nearly four decades. Through every economic cycle, every industry shift, and every new project, those three founding values have remained at the center of everything PHI does.

Kelly Lafollette partnered up with Robert Ilosvay, who has extensive hospitality experience, in 2012 to form ReKreate Hospitality, a General Contracting firm that specializes in hotel and senior living renovations. They have performed many projects with a focus on public spaces, guestrooms, meeting spaces, and exterior improvements.

PHI and ReKreate Hospitality have come together, joined forces to offer a larger array of project scopes with multiple business lines such as; Pre-engineered metal buildings, ground up traditional construction, Senior Living renovations, hotel renovations, restaurants and bar renovations, and tenant improvements.
